Self-taught artist and graphic designer.

 

The main body of Doris' artwork is ocean/coastal inspired. 

 

Born and raised in a small Norwegian fishing village in Petersburg, Alaska.  Doris's vibrant paintings and designs are inspired by her love of color, movement, pattern, and texture; continually found throughout the seashores and forests of her Southeast Alaskan home.

She has taught acrylic and watercolor classes to the local community for both kids and adults since 2010.  As an artist, she believes that everyone has an innate ability for creative expression, which has inspired her to share her talents to help others cultivate their own voice of creativity.

​

Her art portfolio not only includes fine and digital art, but also freelance graphic design work.  Her journey of being a self-taught graphic artist started in 1996 when she started designing websites and magazine ads for her family's brokerage business.  Today she designs anything from logos, ads, websites, book covers, brochures, bookmarks, t-shirt designs, etc. (any and all kind of printed materials).
